My first 24 hours with electricity back on

Well I have been asked many times...."So what did you miss the most"....the microwave, television"
My answer was no to those things.
What i missed most....music, i absolutly love music....and Second Life, of course I missed Second Life....I'm a SL addict ;P

Things i did notice that were a lot easier to do with electricity
1. making coffee....now cowboy coffee isn't bad, but it is very strong if it boils too long
2. putting contact lenses in.....candlelight makes it a challenge, but not impossible
3. shaving.......but if you have no lights, you don't know you've cut yourself , and probably don't know you are bleeding everywhere anyway
4. cooking in a lit kitchen....wow it's amazing the difference light makes
5. An electric can opener is nice.......although a bottle opener works just fine....in small doses ;P
6. washing dishes....well lets just say, you know they are clean if you wash them in daylight
7. Blowdrying my hair....although it's not necessary while sitting at home in the dark.........but it was nice to have that option today ;)
8. taking a bath with the whirlpool going......man iIcould have used that on Thursday and Friday after cleaning up all the limbs and debris from the storm
9.using the freezer as an actual freezer.....not an icebox
10. i almost forgot this one....washing your unmentionables in the machine and tossing them in the dryer..........a lot better than hanging them on the porch railing to dry....and not forgetting them in the morning......don't want the "dirty old man" across the street catching a glimpse at your knickers ;P

Weathering the storm ;)

Yesterday was my first full day with electricity. We had a bad ice and snow storm here in Kansas. It got pretty nasty. We were without electricity for a whole week.
We survived the storm well, thanks to a gas fireplace and hot water tank. It was a bit like Little House On The Prairie. Making cowboy coffee on the stove, and reading at night by candle light.
